Classification: ANU Officer 4 (Research)
Salary package: $75,492 - $81,674 per annum (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation
Term: Part-time, Continuing (contingent funded) (14 hours per week, 0.4FTE)
This position is continuing (contingent funded). The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of 28 November 2026.
The Position
Research Assistant will provide comprehensive support to our research team. Key responsibilities include assisting with both qualitative and quantitative research studies, data analysis, and fieldwork. The role involves supporting ANU and industry users of the Research School of Biology (RSB) bioreactor facility, managing bookings, and maintaining accurate usage records. Additional duties include conducting literature searches, managing research databases, assisting with ethics approvals, and preparing analysis reports for stakeholders, including funding agencies.
Research Assistant will also support project delivery, monitor funding opportunities, and provide general administrative support, such as coordinating meetings, communications, travel, and events. Active participation in workshops and professional networks will be encouraged to enhance industry knowledge and contribute to improving research practices and processes.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have completed or be progressing towards a degree, or have relevant experience in a research or support role. They should possess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with experience in survey design, data collection, and data analysis being advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with proven organizational abilities, are essential for managing competing tasks and working both independently and in teams. Proficiency in MSOffice, especially Excel, is required, and experience with statistical software (e.g. R, SPSS) and bibliographic tools (e.g. EndNote) will be highly regarded.
