Position Overview
Join the Financial Systems team within Finance & Business Services and play a key role in supporting and enhancing the University's enterprise finance systems. As a Systems Accountant, you will provide specialist functional support for finance applications including PeopleSoft FSCM, Concur and Xetta, helping ensure reliable system performance, data integrity and a positive user experience.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the University to resolve system issues, provide advice and training, support testing and implementation of system enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine finance, technology and business process expertise to help deliver modern, efficient and secure financial services.

You are a customer-focused finance or systems professional who enjoys solving problems and improving business processes. You bring experience supporting enterprise finance or business systems and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will have strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions. Experience in user support, training, testing, system administration, reporting or process improvement will be highly regarded. A degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline is expected, with CA or CPA qualifications viewed favourably.

You will also be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and have an interest in leveraging emerging digital technologies, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve service delivery and user outcomes.

The Area
Finance & Business Services (F&BS) provides strategic financial leadership, advice and operational services that support the Australian National University's teaching, research and engagement activities. The Division partners with academic and professional areas across the University to deliver high-quality financial management, business services, systems and governance frameworks that enable informed decision-making and organisational success.

The Financial Systems team is responsible for supporting and enhancing the University's core finance systems and related business processes. The team provides specialist advice, user support, training, system administration and business improvement services to a broad community of stakeholders across the University. Working in a collaborative and service-oriented environment, the team plays a critical role in maintaining effective financial operations and enabling ongoing transformation of financial services.
