Working within the Employee Relations team within our People and Culture Division, this role plays a key role to simplify and streamline HR policies, strengthen governance and compliance, and embed consistent HR practice across the University. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, project coordination and hands-on policy design.

Key responsibilities

In this position, you will:

This role operates with a degree of independence and requires sound judgement, strong writing skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across a large organisation.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy development, HR governance, employee relations or a related field
  • Ability to interpret HR legislation, enterprise agreements and regulatory frameworks and translate them into clear policy guidance
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting policy, procedures or governance documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate policy or process improvement projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing competing priorities
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, professional integrity and quality outcomes

Why join us?

  • Build specialist HR policy expertise in a enterprise-scale environment with national impact
  • Gain exposure to strategic HR reform, including legislative implementation and governance uplift
  • Be part of a supportive team that values integrity, collaboration and practical solutions
  • Flexible work options and a positive work culture
