Classification: Academic Level B
Salary package: $118,632 - $134,507 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Fixed term (until June 2027)
Founded by Australia’s only female Prime Minister, the Hon Julia Gillard AC, the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL) at ANU aims to better understand and address the causes of women’s underrepresentation in leadership positions across sectors and countries, and to improve workplace gender equality and diversity.
GIWL is recruiting a Research Fellow for Investing in Women (IW), a multi-country initiative of the Australian Government in Southeast Asia that aims to accelerate women’s economic equality. IW is implemented by Abt Associates.
GIWL’s role is to build an evidence base and provide thought leadership on women’s economic empowerment in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar. The Research Fellow will serve as the key point of contact with our research partners and will be responsible for project management across several workstreams, while also contributing to research as part of our academic team.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a field relevant to Investing in Women’s priorities and have a strong track record of independent research, including peer-reviewed publications and collaborations. They will demonstrate innovative thinking, a clear research vision, and a commitment to securing competitive external funding. The successful applicant will be a team player with proven project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Exceptional communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively in a cross-disciplinary academic environment. They will foster respectful and collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and partners across diverse cultural and professional contexts.
