Salary package: $115,739 - $131,227 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Part-time (up to 14 hours per week, 0.4 FTE), Fixed term (up to 12 months)
Position overview
The ANU Centre for Heritage and Museum Studies is seeking an early career researcher with a PhD in history or related field with a specific focus on Indigenous collections, digital knowledge resources, and repatriation. A high-level understanding of digital archives is expected, as a major case study in this ARC project.
The appointee will undertake a significant role in conducting research of international standing and actively contribute to the activities associated with Associate Professor Ormond-Parker’s Discovery Indigenous project, ‘Towers of Terabytes: Utilising Indigenous digital knowledge resources.’ This project aims to advance understanding of how Indigenous cultural knowledge databases can be integrated with ecological information management systems to enhance the ability of Indigenous rangers to care for country. The project expects to generate new knowledge about the challenges and solutions of data linkage between cultural heritage and natural resource management platforms.
