Position overview

ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU School of Medicine & Psychology forms part of the College of Science and Medicine, and is comprised of three clinical schools which work together to deliver a four-year postgraduate medical degree.

This is a key role in a friendly, motivated but distributed team in the Rural Clinical School providing high quality, community based clinical education to ANU medical students, with a view to fostering the development of sustainable rural medical workforce, especially in south-east NSW.

The role is integral to the design and delivery of clinical teaching, program liaison and academic support to medical students on rural clinical placements in the south-east NSW campuses of the Rural Clinical School, and in rural educational programs at the Acton and Canberra Hospital campuses of the SMP.

This role may be offered either as one or two part-time positions depending on the availability and preference of the preferred applicant/s. The position/s may be based in any one of our five rural campuses in SE NSW or at the ANU Acton campus.

We are seeking a qualified medical practitioner with experience in clinical teaching and rural medical practice. Ideally they will be someone who can adapt to challenges, build strong relationships and work productively with colleagues to identify and develop effective solutions.

The University actively encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. For more information on employment opportunities, contact our Indigenous Employment Consultant via: indigenous.employment@anu.edu.au
