The Position

The Casual Events & Program Support Assistant plays a key role in delivering teaching programs within Clinical Education and Clinical Skills at the Canberra Clinical School. The role provides hands-on logistical and administrative support to staff, students and visitors, including preparing and packing up clinical skills sessions, caring for part-task trainers, facilitating AV equipment, recording attendance, and supporting presenters. Working across two teams under the supervision of the School Manager, the position contributes to the effective operation of teaching and shared spaces. The role is dynamic and collaborative, with responsibilities determined through the Performance Development Process.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced service environment, with proven ability to undertake physical tasks such as moving equipment, setting up rooms and handling teaching materials. They will be confident using the Microsoft Office suite, enterprise systems and general office applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to prepare routine correspondence and liaise professionally with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful applicant will be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously within a team.

The School

Canberra Clinical School, located at Canberra Hospital, Garran, delivers teaching, assessment, student placements and research and related events for medical students, academic staff and clinicians and engages with Canberra Health Services and the medical and wider community to provide service to the medical and wider community to achieve its goals.  The School works closely with Canberra Health Services
