 Position overview

The Mathematical Sciences Institute is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher at Level A or B.

This position is funded by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery project awarded to Anthony Licata, Anand Deopurkar, and Asilata Bapat. The primary aim of the position is to carry out the research programme proposed for the Discovery project. This will be done in collaboration with the three chief investigators (named above) and a range of Australian and international collaborators.

The project centres around the study of Bridgeland stability conditions on

triangulated categories. The research aims to answer fundamental questions about the topology of the space of stability conditions, using a combination of techniques from representation theory, group theory, algebraic geometry, combinatorics, and other fields of mathematics.

The level of this appointment, Academic Level A or B, will be determined by the appointee’s level of experience and expertise.

Applicants are expected to have an outstanding record in research relative to opportunity, in a field directly relevant to the project mentioned above.

The ARC grant provides for some funding for international travel for successful applicants to attend conferences and workshops, and to conduct collaborative research with international colleagues.
