The Position
The Engagement and Impact Officer will support the College’s outreach, research engagement and stakeholder activities by coordinating events, communications, research support initiatives and visiting scholar programs. Working closely with academic and professional staff, the role will assist with the smooth operation of key initiatives for visiting academics, including providing advice on travel and HR processing and managing logistics. This position suits a proactive and highly organised team member who enjoys building connections, supporting collaborative research environments and contributing to the College’s positive profile across the humanities and social sciences.
The Person
We are looking for a proactive and motivated team player with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for engagement, collaboration and supporting research activity. You will bring strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take initiative in coordinating events, communications and visitor activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced academic environment, with well-developed IT skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, students, visitors and external partners. Experience supporting events, outreach activities or research engagement programs will be highly regarded.
The College
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 270 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public.
