Classification: ANU Officer Grade 6/7 (Administration)
Salary package: $100,847 - $116,083 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Term: Fixed-term for up to 12 months
Are you an experienced administrator who's ready to take on a higher-level, coordinating role — someone who can bring order to complexity and lead others through change?
The ANU College of Science and Medicine is looking for a Senior Project Officer to coordinate critical service provision for the College and its Schools during the transition and stabilisation period for the University. Reporting to the Manager, General Administration Team, you'll ensure the efficient, effective delivery of administrative support across the School and College, liaising closely with staff in Schools, the College and central Divisions.
You will provide high-level administrative support and coordination to manage the transition across a broad range of administrative services, including Research (including HDR), Education, WHS and Campus Environment. The role coordinates the development and delivery of School/College projects, student and education administration and higher degree research administration and other matters such as committee support, room bookings and event coordination.
You bring depth of administrative experience, sound judgement, and the confidence to coordinate multiple moving parts — and you know how to bring a team along with you.
You'll hold a relevant degree with demonstrated experience in student administration in a complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of experience and training, with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. You're highly organised, able to supervise or mentor staff, and bring adaptability, sound judgement and highly developed computer skills, including a large enterprise system and the MS Office suite.
This position sits within the ANU College of Science and Medicine's General Administration team and is designed to provide support across the College's Schools. The role may be embedded within a School, but works flexibly across the College, partnering with School and College staff to provide administrative continuity and support during a period of change.
The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompasses the following disciplines: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Medicine, Medical Research, Physics and Psychology. It is also home to various cross-disciplinary and specialist institutes and centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science and Medicine conduct research and deliver research-led education programs spanning the entire breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and world-class facilities.
