Salary package: $138,182 - $144,783 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Position overview
Under the broad direction of the General Counsel, reporting to a Deputy General Counsel, and working with other senior legal staff in the University Legal Office, provide independent legal advice and carry out tasks of a legal nature.
The scope of the legal work undertaken by the Legal Office includes research and commercial contracts, public law advice, litigation, dispute resolution, and compliance matters within the University framework and higher education sector. Lawyers are regularly exposed to complex transactions, both within Australia and internationally.
Your duties will include the provision of legal advice to the University across a broad range of matters, including on legal implications of policy proposals. You will participate in higher education legal professional fora, develop networks and liaise with colleagues across the sector.
You will possess legal practice skills relevant to the operations of the University. Candidates with experience, or keen interest, in the higher education sector are encouraged to apply.
