Position overview

The Division of Student Administration and Academic Services (DSAAS) is within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Portfolio. DSAAS is responsible for the administrative support of students through the student lifecycle from when an offer is made to the completion of their studies and graduation. Activities of the Division includes admissions, general student enquiries, enrolment, class timetabling, program management, financial transactions, scholarship management, examination management, legislative compliance in relation to students and the curriculum management. The Division also provides advice for appeals, grievance, academic misconduct and discipline processes. 

The Deputy Manager Student Systems Support is part of the Student Business Systems Office and is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that support core student management, timetabling, student handbook, curriculum management and related student systems of the University. The Student Business Systems team undertakes analysis, design, development, testing, support and implementation of business processes and IT solutions for student systems as well as providing ongoing functional application support and systems support. You will lead the support team in ensuring efficient functional application support services, systems support, project support, functional maintenance of core student systems of the University and coordinating operational priorities and continuous improvement. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to interpret complex systems, data and business processes.
  • Strong leadership and problem‑solving capabilities, with proven experience coordinating multifaceted operational priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand, communicate and apply technical and non technical information to support effective system use.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, high‑performing team environment, providing guidance and supporting continuous improvement.
