The Person

Under broad direction of the CoSM Team Lead, Purchasing and Stores, the Purchasing and Asset Manager will exercise a high degree of autonomy in the leadership and management of the College’s purchasing, stores and asset management functions. The position is responsible for managing a specialist College operational team, located across multiple locations of the Acton Campus, and developing frameworks, systems and processes that support strategic and operational objectives.

 

The role requires the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with academic and professional staff, researchers, HDR students, finance staff, WHS personnel, external suppliers, freight providers, contractors and regulatory agencies. The position represents the College in purchase-related matters and contributes to broader College and University initiatives.

 

The College

The ANU College of Science and Medicine (CoSM) encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Marine Sciences, Medical Research, Medicine and Psychology and Physics. It is also home to various cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science and Medicine conduct research and deliver a research-led education programs spanning the entire breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and world-class facilities.

The CoSM Purchasing and Stores Team provides critical procurement, operational and logistical support for the College’s purchasing, stores and asset management functions. The Purchasing and Asset Manager is responsible for the management and provision of high quality, efficient and timely support for the purchasing, stores, freight and asset management services of the College.
