Salary package: $121,359 - $129,772 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Continuing.
The Position
The Deputy Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in delivering budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities for the College. The role contributes to the development and implementation of financial management practices that support the College’s strategic and operational priorities.
The position provides high-level financial advice to senior leaders, researchers and business units on complex financial matters, including the management of research grants and externally funded projects. This includes supporting informed decision-making through financial analysis, reporting and strategic advice.
The Deputy Finance Manager oversees the delivery of high-quality financial services across the College, ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. The role also supports the accuracy, integrity and effective governance of financial data and systems.
The role supervises and develops finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen financial processes, systems and service delivery.
The Person
You will bring strong financial management experience within a complex organisational environment and the ability to provide high-level financial advice to senior stakeholders.
You will have relevant postgraduate qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional accounting accreditation (CA or CPA) is desirable, along with experience in the administration of research grants or externally funded projects.
You will demonstrate proven financial planning, budgeting and analytical skills, and experience implementing finance-related policies, procedures and systems to improve financial outcomes.
The role requires strong leadership capability, including experience supervising and developing staff in a culturally diverse environment. You will also have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, build effective stakeholder relationships and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
