The Accommodation Officer is an integral part of the Residential Experience Division, dedicated to supporting the University's strategic goals by fostering a safe and welcoming on-campus environment for students. This role serves as the primary point of contact for students seeking accommodation, handling enquiries through in-person, telephone, and email channels. The officer manages the entire accommodation process, from initial inquiries to application and acceptance, ensuring full occupancy across 18 residences that house over 6,400 students. Additionally, the Accommodation Officer provides essential administrative support to the Senior Accommodation Officer as well as the Accommodation Services Manager, including updating resident records, managing waitlists, generating reports, and supporting various projects to enhance the student experience.
In this position, the Accommodation Officer must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and proficiency in using administrative software, particularly the StarRez residential management system. The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, effectively prioritising tasks and escalating issues as needed. Compliance with University policies, especially those related to work health and safety and equal opportunity, is crucial. Prior experience in administrative roles and knowledge of accommodation management systems will be highly regarded, as they contribute to the seamless operation of the University's on-campus accommodation services.
