Salary package: $83,351 - $90,926 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Fixed term (up to 12 months)
The Position
The Education Support Officer reports to Education Coordinator. The Education Support Officer is accountable for providing high quality administration support for the coursework programs within the School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP). The role supports academic's teaching within the program and is responsible for scheduling teaching sessions within the SMP coursework programs. The position will maintain a close working relationship with students, academics and professional staff within the School, the College and the wider University, and manage ongoing stakeholder relationships with academics and clinicians who teach into SMP coursework programs.
The Person
To excel in this role, you will have experience in Higher Education administration including using student administration systems. You will be someone who is willing to consider new ways of working with an eye to process improvement. Previous experience at ANU will be highly regarded. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels within the School of Medicine and Psychology and the wider College of Science and Medicine.
The School
The School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP) was established in 2023 to bring together expertise from Medicine and Psychology to develop a unique educational and research environment. The focus is to produce psychologists, researchers, and medical graduates who practice compassion, conscience and professional excellence, and with a knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culture. The School partners with a number of healthcare organisations to deliver teaching and training including but limited to ACT Health, Calvary Healthcare ACT, and community practices throughout the ACT, South Eastern NSW. The SMP is committed to extending the boundaries of medical and psychology knowledge and improving societies through research. A focus on providing students with access to groundbreaking research is core to our research led education experience. Research is conducted over a range of disciplines and organised into three main themes: Society Culture and Health, Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Clinical Care and Brain, Vision, and Mental Processing. Collaborations in research and education have both a national and international reach to other universities, governments and communities in the region as well as industry bodies, attracting national and international researchers and higher degree research candidates.
The College
The College of Science and Medicine encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, Medicine and Psychology is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science and Medicine conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
