Position Overview

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a professional and highly capable secretariate to manage the end to end support requirements of the University Executive Committee (UEC, the Committee). This role is integral to the efficient operation of the UEC and will work closely with the University's senior leaders and their offices.

As the UEC Secretary, you will be responsible for the end-to-end provision of secretariat support to the Committee. This includes but is not limited to the coordination of papers, the preparation and publication of meeting minutes, and the provision of high-quality advice to Committee members and their support staff. You will collaborate closely with senior University leader and their offices, academic and professional staff, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to support the delivery of outcomes that align with the University's priorities.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex and confidential matters in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. Your skillset will include:

  • Strong strategic capacity, and proven ability to exercise judgement and discretion in a high-profile, confidential environment;
  • The ability to work at a high level, completing complex strategic tasks rapidly and accurately;
  • Excellent governance and secretariat skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, whilst maintaining attention to detail and exercising sound judgement while working autonomously and within a team;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including confidence and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

This role is suited to an excellent strategic thinker, capable of working effectively to strict recurrent deadlines, and with the resilience to adapt to changing needs. This is a rare opportunity to work with leaders and influencers across the University, and externally. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about making an impact, we encourage you to apply.
