Position Overview

University House offers commercial hotel and ANU graduate student accommodation (97 and 60 rooms, respectively), and 15 diverse events spaces and hospitality venues. University House is reopening in mid-2026, after 6.5 years closure due to the 2020 Canberra hailstorm, and a complete refurbishment to restore and upgrade its rooms and facilities. The reopening, in conjunction with the University's 80th anniversary, offers an exciting opportunity to re-establish and grow the reputation and business of University House, and its contributions to the University.

The Position

The Senior Administration Officer provides high-level support to the Operations Manager, Master, and Leadership Team to ensure effective and efficient development and implementation of workflows and approvals; oversight of internal projects and programs, of procurement and contract management services, of the membership and alumni portfolio, of student residents; and overseeing the day-to-day administration of the House.

The Person

We seek a strategic leader with exceptional people skills and a proven track record in problem-solving and delivering operational guidance within fast-paced, complex environments. Your ability to lead by example, combined with outstanding communication and interpersonal strengths, will be key to building respectful, collaborative, and productive relationships with stakeholders.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also reflect a high level of personal presentation, professionalism, and leadership in all circumstances to ensure the best possible outcome for the House and ANU.

Benefits include:

  • Professional and collaborative work environment
  • Mentoring and ongoing career development
  • Excellent remuneration and benefits
