Salary package: $89,760 - $97,918 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The Position 

The Australian National University (ANU) is committed to increasing the representation, participation and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our workforce.

We are seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, Indigenous Talent, to play a key role in strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment outcomes across the University. This role will focus on;

  • Support the delivery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment initiatives, including targeted recruitment activities, early career pathways and workforce development programs.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention and belonging, including onboarding, mentoring and networking opportunities.
  • Collect, analyse and report workforce data and insights to identify opportunities, monitor progress and support evidence-informed decision making.
  • Assist with the implementation of ANU Diversity, Equity and Inclusion priorities, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Person

We’re looking for a motivated and culturally aware professional to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment outcomes across the University.  In order to support the role responsibilities, the person we are looking for will have;

  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment initiatives, workforce participation and career development pathways.
  • Strong relationship-building, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities and partner groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver projects, programs or initiatives and contribute to successful outcomes in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience using workforce information systems, data reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, inclusion, reconciliation and equity, and an understanding of their application in a university or complex organisational environment.
