Salary package: $98,387 - $113,252 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The Position
The Commercial Analyst supports the identification, evaluation and development of research commercialisation opportunities across the University. The role contributes to the delivery of high-quality analysis, insight and operational support to enable effective decision-making and engagement with industry and external partners.
Working as part of the Commercialisation and IP team, the position undertakes market and sector analysis, identifies potential partners, and supports the assessment of technologies for commercial potential. The role also contributes to the development of materials that showcase ANU research capability and supports initiatives that connect researchers with industry and end users.
The Commercial Analyst plays a key role in supporting team operations, including responding to enquiries, assisting with the management of intellectual property processes, and maintaining accurate data and reporting systems. The position contributes to a range of activities, including events, workshops and stakeholder engagement initiatives that promote research translation and impact.
The Person
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capability and an interest in research, innovation and commercialisation. You bring experience in data analysis, research, or operational support, with the ability to synthesise information and present insights clearly and effectively.
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and are confident engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. Your proactive approach and customer service mindset enable you to respond effectively to enquiries and support a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes. Experience in a university, research or innovation environment will be highly regarded.
The School/Department
The Commercialisation and IP team sits within the Office of Research, Translation and Partnerships and supports the translation of research into impact through intellectual property, industry engagement and commercialisation pathways. The team works closely with researchers, industry and partners to identify opportunities and enable successful outcomes.
Division
The Research and Innovation Portfolio provides leadership and coordination of the University’s research strategy and impact agenda. It supports a broad range of activities across research development, partnerships and commercialisation to enhance the reach and value of ANU research.
