Position Overview

The Associate Director, Future Students (International) will work closely with the Director Future Students in agreeing and operationalising innovative international student recruitment strategies.

The Associate Director will build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders and will bring a developed understanding of the global higher education sector to ANU. They will likely be able to draw upon a wide and varied international network in government(s), education agencies, ministries, and other universities. They will also be a strong operational leader, with outstanding people skills and experience developing strong team cultures.

Reporting to the Director Future Students, the Associate Director will work closely with many senior staff at ANU and will cultivate close working relationships with colleagues in, for instance, ANU Registry, Planning & Performance Measurement, Advancement, and the Academic Colleges. The Associate Director will also lead operational relationships with several external and sector organisations.

Future Students Overview

Future Students forms part of the International & Future Students Division. We specialise in attracting talented prospective students from across the country and around the world to study at ANU. We do this by:

  • collating market intelligence
  • delivering the University’s domestic and international recruitment and awareness campaigns
  • building and maintaining relationships with education agents, schools, parents and sponsors
  • managing the ANU visual and verbal identity – also known as the brand.   

Future Students team also handles enquiries from all prospective students and their influencers helping them to navigate their way through the unique ANU application and offer processes for domestic and international applicants.

Everything we do supports the diversification of the University’s student cohort and promotes our diverse and welcoming community. We take a student-centred approach in our work with a focus on optimising customer experience. We also work closely with marketing and recruitment colleges across the ANU Colleges and relevant Service Divisions to provide the best service possible to our internal and external stakeholders.
