Position overview

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a highly capable Administration Coordinator to support the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. This role is integral to the operations of the Office and will provide high-quality administration support across the Office's functions.

As the Administration Coordinator, you will provide of administrative support to the Office of the Interim Vice-Chancellor. You will be responsible for the management of correspondence and document flow within the Office; the coordination of meetings and events; and administrative tasks as required to support the Executive Assistant and the Administration Manager. You will collaborate closely with the offices of senior university executives, academic and professional staff, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to support the Office to deliver outcomes aligned to the University's priorities.

We are looking for a capable administration professional with the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced, complex environment. Your skillset will include:

  • The proven ability to exercise judgement and discretion in a high-profile, confidential environment;
  • The ability to work at a high level, coordinating multiple administrative tasks rapidly and accurately; 
  • Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, whilst maintaining attention to detail and exercising sound judgement autonomously and within a team;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including confidence and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and 
  • Knowledge of challenges facing the Australian higher education sector, and the strategic context of the ANU, would be an advantage for this role.
