Classification: ANU Officer 5 (Technical)
Salary package: $ 85,434 - $ 93,200 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Term: Full time, Fixed term (up to 2 years)
The Position
The Technical Officer will coordinate the efficient day-to-day operations of the ARC Training Centre for Accelerated Future Crop Development and provides high level technical support to research projects in the Centre. The Technical Officer may also be required to work with and assist in supervising junior staff and students and contribute cooperatively to the overall intellectual life of the School, College and University.
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a solution based work ethic and a solid background in plant molecular biology who takes a flexible and proactive approach to research, who's able to work independently and balance their work priorities while working on multiple projects. We're looking for a person who works well in a team environment and is willing to contribute to the success of the team as a whole.
The School
The Training Centre for Future Crops Development connects ANU and The University of Adelaide with over 20 industry and research organisations to train a new generation of researcher practitioners in the development and implementation of socially responsible gene technologies to drive growth, productivity and competitiveness in Australian Agriculture. The partners include local, national and international companies and research organisations
The College
The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science and Medicine conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
