About the Role
As a Senior Windows System Administrator, you will work as part of the Cyber Resilience Squad within ITS and establish effective working relationships with business areas and technical teams to deliver security-related objectives and improvement initiatives that directly contribute towards achieving the University’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Actively monitoring and maintaining our Windows and related environments
  • Diagnosing and resolving cybersecurity related issues or implementing recommendations of the ANU Information Security Office
  • Supporting the design and implementation, innovation and hardware/software maintenance and upgrades
  • Working across teams to build holistic end-to-end solutions to reduce cybersecurity risks and reduce the University’s attack surface driving continuous improvement of our processes and client service

About You
We welcome applications from individuals who possess the following attributes:

  • Strong technical skills in the support of Windows Server Systems
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong PowerShell skills
  • A deep knowledge of cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation skills

Also desirable is:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Configuration Manager and VMware ESXi
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies
  • Experience with Azure cloud
  • Understanding or experience with Essential 8 Cybersecurity model
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including managers, technical and non-technical staff, academics, and research teams
  • An interest in working in a changing and developing environment
