      The Team

The Student Safety and Wellbeing team plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety and overall wellbeing of students throughout their academic journey.  Our Case Managers work from person-centred and trauma informed practice frameworks, ensuring students are treated with dignity and respect and receive transparent and confidential services to empower them to make choices and connect with others.  The team is responsible for the coordinated response to student disclosures of sexual misconduct and other harmful behaviours as well as supporting the university response to student critical incidents.  Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students feel heard, respected, and empowered to thrive.

      The Person

You will hold relevant qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling, and have undertaken formal training and/or experience in supporting people affected by gender-based violence or willingness to undertake further training.  Ideally, you bring experience leading a team of practitioners who support individuals affected by harmful behaviours, including sexual misconduct, gender-based violence, and who present with complex and sensitive needs.

In this role, you’ll draw on your expertise to guide staff working with a diverse student population. This includes students navigating issues such as cultural adjustment, isolation, academic pressure, financial stress, housing insecurity, visa-related concerns, and the unique challenges often experienced by students. Your leadership will help ensure trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and student-centred care across the service.  As part of our diverse Health and Wellbeing teams, you will help make a positive impact on the lives of students.

      The Division

The University Experience Division is within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Portfolio.  The University Experience Division provides a range of support, enrichment, and advisory services to help students to achieve their university education goals.  We support students living both on and off campus, undergraduate and post-graduate, and strive to ensure high quality and responsive services are delivered effectively to students from all backgrounds.
