The position

The Laboratory Coordinator will provide high-level laboratory operational and administrative support across the College, with the responsibility for laboratory operations and maintenance, training and mentoring, and records administration, with a focus on compliance.

You will contribute to planning, reporting and compliance activities, training and mentoring both staff and students in laboratory operations and fieldwork, manage documentation and record keeping for auditing and reporting purposes, provide advice on relevant legislative requirements and work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to ensure effective College operations.  This role also involves representation on relevant WHS committees and working parties and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support the College’s strategic priorities.

The person

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised professional with strong laboratory and compliance knowledge, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to develop and maintain best practice documentation and record keeping processes.  You will have well-developed written and oral communication skills, confidence with laboratories and experience interpreting policy and legislative frameworks.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader, ability to work autonomously, build strong working relationships with staff and students as all levels, and contribute to continuous improvement of College systems and processes.  Demonstrated experience in laboratory operations and administration within a university or complex organisational environment will be highly regarded.

The College

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of six Colleges at ANU.
