Position Overview

The Australian National University, one of the World's leading research universities, has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer service focused finance professional to work within the University's Finance and Business Services Division (F&BS). F&BS supports the University's strategic and operational goals through the provision of professional corporate financial management and administration, reporting and effective business services.

The Financial Accountant - Research is a member of the Corporate Finance and Reporting team within F&BS.

This position is responsible for the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting to internal Chief Investigators and external Funds Providers. The position is also responsible for preparing University-level consolidated financial reports. Furthermore, the accountant provides robust advice and assistance on finance policies, procedures, and initiatives related to research management. To ensure compliance with regulations, the accountant collaborates with other members of the Research Financial Advisory team and works alongside Finance and Research services professionals across the broader University community.

The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications (CA, CPA) and experience in research financial reporting and management within a tertiary environment or similar complex organization. Your ability to apply contemporary financial management practices and analytical and problem-solving skills will be complimented by excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
