Salary package: $86,960 - $100,098 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The Position

This is a key role for a qualified technician to manage a range of functions, including seismic instrument maintenance, experimental design and implementation, risk assessments, the general operation of the ANSIR seismic instrument facility, and field program within the Geophysics and Computational Technical Group.

The successful candidate may be required to take a lead role in Work Health and Safety (WHS) and make active contribution towards the practice and compliance process in the WHS space.

The Technical Officer will be a member of Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES). The Person

We are looking for a qualified technician with experience in geophysical field instrument maintenance and deployment to work in our National seismic instrument facility (ANSIR). This role requires strong problem-solving skills. You will work in collaboration with staff and students within the School in addition to liaising with a wide range of external stakeholders. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key.

Your ability to lead by example, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels within RSES in line with the RSES Culture Statement.
