Position overview
The Student Education Support team contributes to the University's strategic objective to provide an excellent educational experience for its students through delivery of accessible and supportive administrative functions throughout the student lifecycle.
The Student Education Advisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality, student-centred administrative support across the student lifecycle. Working within Student Education Support, the position provides advice and assistance across enrolment, progression, compliance, assessment and other student administration matters.
Working under broad direction, the position manages a range of student enquiries and cases, providing accurate and timely advice and liaising with Colleges, Schools and other University areas to resolve matters and achieve positive outcomes for students.
The role provides specialist advice to students and academic staff on matters including enrolment and progression, assessment and examination processes, Extenuating Circumstances Applications, deferred examinations, late withdrawals, program and course changes, and other complex student administration matters. The position also supports compliance with relevant University policies and regulatory frameworks, including ESOS requirements, and undertakes processes to determine student eligibility for awards and graduation.
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience working in a complex administrative environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will have the ability to provide accurate advice in line with policy and regulatory frameworks, resolve complex issues and deliver high-quality, student-centred service.
You will be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff while also operating independently. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, strong digital literacy and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion are essential. Experience in higher education or student administration will be highly regarded.
Student Education Support sits within Student Engagement and Education Management (SEEM) and provides expert administrative support to students and academic staff across a range of programs. The team plays a critical role in supporting students throughout their academic journey, from enrolment and progression through to completion and graduation, while maintaining compliance with University policies and regulatory requirements.
