Position overview

The Centre for Gambling Research (CGR) in POLIS: the Centre for Social Policy Research invites applications for a Senior Research Officer with strong qualitative research skills to work closely with the lead researcher to support the successful delivery of the project 'Family and domestic violence and gambling harm: Developing the evidence-base for prevention programs and intervention services in NSW’. The Senior Research Officer will provide high level research support, liaise with the government and service stakeholders, assist in the study setup, run co-design workshops and undertake interviews.

The Centre for Gambling Research (CGR) is a multidisciplinary research centre specialised in generating a robust evidence-base for practice and policy to reduce gambling harm. CGR seeks to promote and engage in rigorous academic debate and public discourse around gambling, and gambling harm including its impacts on families and the broader community. We are committed to building collaborative research partnerships between a range of stakeholders and with other research institutions.  CGR is part of POLIS, the ANU Centre for Social Policy Research in the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS).  POLIS is home to six other research centres, this interdisciplinary and collaborative space enables CGR to address and make a difference in the challenges of today's society.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice.
