Classification: ANU Officer 8 (Administration)
Salary package: $115,511 - $123,519 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, fixed term (up to 10 months)
Position overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified committee secretary, looking for a chance to deliver a high standard of secretariat services in support of key decision-making bodies at one of Australia's leading Universities.
The Senior Governance Officer will work as part of a small team of specialist staff to provide administrative support and procedural advice to committees established by the ANU Council and the University's Academic Board.
Being a committee secretary involves creating agendas and producing minutes to a high standard, the review of and procedural advice about papers and proposed outcomes, forward agenda planning, monitoring membership and liaison with the Chair, members and senior executives at the University.
When time permits, the Senior Governance Officer may assist other areas of the office that manage the University Policy Governance Framework, Delegations and Legislation.
This position is being offered for a fixed term of approximately 10 months.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant qualifications and extensive experience in the provision of secretariat services. You will be highly organised, have highly developed writing skills, possess an exceptional eye for detail, be interested in the procedural elements of decision-making, and be able to communicate complex and detailed information in a simple and concise manner. You will have effective partnership skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including governance colleagues and senior leaders.

It provides procedural advice and support to the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and the ANU Council, Council Committees, and the Academic Board. CGRO also manages ANU policy, delegations and legislation.
