About the Division
The University Experience Division is within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Portfolio. The University Experience Division provides a range of support, enrichment, and advisory services to help students achieve their university educational goals. We support students living both on and off-campus and strive to ensure high quality and responsive services are delivered effectively to students from all backgrounds.

ANU Counselling promotes, supports and enhances mental health and wellbeing within the university community. They provide a free, confidential, non-diagnostic generalist counselling service that is available to ANU students.

About the opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Counsellor to lead and contribute to the management, clinical leadership, supervision and support of ANU Counselling staff as well as providing counselling to students.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A qualification in psychology, social work (mental health), occupational therapy (mental health) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
  • Registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, membership of the
    Australian Association of Social Workers, or Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Seven years or more relevant specialist experience in effective counselling practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational management.
  • Understanding of the issues and skills relevant to the provision of student counselling.
