Position overview
The School Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the School, working closely with the School’s Executive and the College of Science and Medicine Executive to deliver outcomes that progress the School’s, College's and University's vision for excellence in research and education.

The Person
We are looking for;

  • A strategic thinker, with a track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • A collaborative team member with proven expertise in leading an administrative team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in the preparation of briefings, information papers, budget and other reports.
  • Project management and/or business process improvement experience, with an ability to partner with colleagues to overcome complex matters in short timeframes.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the contemporary challenges facing the higher education sector.

The Australian National University’s College of Science and Medicine delivers world-class research and education in astronomy, biological sciences, chemistry, Earth sciences, medical research, medicine, physics, and psychology.

The School Manager position will join the Research School of Chemistry (RSC). The School has an enviable reputation as a powerhouse of chemical research, attracting leading chemists from around the country and overseas. Supported by world-class equipment and laboratories housed in a state-of-the-art new building, we conduct pioneering research across the breadth of chemistry, biochemistry and materials science.
