The East Asian Bureau of Economic Research (EABER) is a research unit within the Crawford School and is the hub of a network of research institutes across East and South Asia. It conducts policy-relevant research and engages in policy outreach in areas relevant to Asian economic integration, including trade and finance.

About the Opportunity
The Research Project Manager will independently coordinate and manage research projects that engage a team of researchers from the East Asian Bureau of Economic Research, as well as other university groups and initiatives aligned with EABER’s research interests. This role involves a particular focus on economic analysis, advancing EABER’s research and public outreach activities in areas such as supply chain resilience, trade policy, and structural change in Asia. This role also requires drawing out policy implications, ensuring that the research produced is impactful and policy-relevant.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will possess relevant higher degree qualifications, demonstrate expertise in EABER’s areas of specialisation—particularly economics—and have a proven track record in managing major research projects. A strong track record in managing major research projects is essential, along with the ability to translate research findings into policy-relevant insights.

You will have experience in stakeholder engagement, including liaising with government, industry, and academic partners, and a proven ability to develop networks and build productive relationships in both policy and academic environments.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to prioritise competing tasks, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
