Crawford School of Public Policy is Australia’s premier public policy school, with recognised world-class expertise and experience in economics, political science, environmental management and development, and on key Asia-Pacific countries, especially China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as Australia.
The East Asian Bureau of Economic Research (EABER) is a research unit within the Crawford School and is the hub of a network of research institutes across East and South Asia. It conducts policy-relevant research and engages in policy outreach in areas relevant to Asian economic integration, including trade and finance.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Research Fellow to join EABER within the Crawford School of Public Policy. Reporting to the Director of EABER, the Research Fellow will collaborate closely with EABER and Crawford staff while engaging broadly with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of contract outcomes.
Our Ideal Candidate
The Research Fellow will hold a PhD in economics or be close to submitting a PhD thesis in economics or possess significant, recognised equivalent experience. They will have expertise in modelling, data analysis, and interpretation, with a proven ability to integrate findings into high-impact publications. The Research Fellow will have experience working on international economic issues, and experience in East Asia. The Research Fellow must meet the eligibility requirements for accessing the ABS DataLab environment, including being based in Australia for the duration of the employment period.
