The ANU College of Asia & the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region. The College hosts the largest number of regional experts and specialist academic programs in the English-speaking world, and plays a vital role in informing public policy and Australia's intellectual engagement with the societies, cultures and economies of Asia and the Pacific.
CAP is the centre of excellence for understanding human development and organisation in Asia and the Pacific, and addressing the cultural, economic, environmental, political and societal dimensions of global challenges.
Crawford School of Public Policy is a School within CAP and is Australia’s premier public policy school, with recognised world-class expertise and experience in economics, political science, environmental management and development, and on key Asia-Pacific countries, especially China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as Australia.
The Arndt-Corden Department of Economics (ACDE) works on key problems in economics with emphasis on Australia, the Asia-Pacific, and global challenges. The Department is in the Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.
The Research Fellow (research intensive) is designed chiefly to support the ACIAR research project Agricultural Policy Development in Mongolia, with a particular focus on project-related research.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate who holds a PhD in agricultural and resource economics, having demonstrated work experience with ACIAR research projects on rural transformation, with an ability to liaise effectively with Mongolian government agencies. Expertise in the field of rural transformation and international cooperation in development economics will be highly valued. Experience in the Asia-Pacific and/or Australia is important, with an emphasis on complementing the group’s existing strengths.
