Classification: Senior Manager 1 (Administration)
Salary package: $131,812 - $141,252 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Term: Full time, Fixed term (until 31 December 2027)
The Position
The National Centre for Indigenous Genomics (NCIG) seeks an experienced Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of commitments under the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant and to maintain essential program and governance functions.
The Project Manager will oversee key projects spanning both scientific and community engagement streams, including development of an Indigenous reference genome, genomic assemblies, and national surveys and workshops with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The role is also responsible for coordinating NCIG’s governance committees, ensuring effective oversight and accountability.
The Person
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic project manager with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in project planning, stakeholder engagement, and change management, particularly within large or complex environments—experience in the higher education sector is highly regarded. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a commitment to continuous improvement and sector best practices.
The Centre
National Centre for Indigenous Genomics (NCIG) is a leading centre of Indigenous genomic research in Australia. The Centre, governed by an Indigenous majority board, was created to manage and expand a collection of historical Indigenous blood samples and to develop a research reference resource from the DNA in the samples for genomic health and medical research.
The College
