Classification: Academic Level A or Level B
Salary package: $85,010 - $131,227 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Term: Full time, Fixed-term (up to 24 months)
The Position
This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team working towards development of high-precision measurement technology for gravitational wave detection.
This position is within the ANU Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics (CGA), a joint facility of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Research School of Physics. CGA undertakes a world-leading role for Australia in the science and technology of gravitational wave discoveries and is the ANU node of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav) and The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS).
The Person
We are looking for an early career academic with experience in experimental physics or engineering. Expertise in any of the areas of optics, laser interferometry, modern feedback controls, opto-mechanics, mechanical design, and with a focus on low-frequency gravitational force sensing are desirable.
We are looking for candidates who like challenging problems and work well within a diverse and collegial team.
