The Position

The successful candidate will conduct independent research in molecular biology and biophysics, focusing on computational simulations to examine protein structure and function. This includes using advanced sampling methods and free energy calculations. The role involves publishing research in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and collaborating nationally.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will also support the preparation of research grant proposals and contribute to securing external funding. In addition to research, the role includes the opportunity to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels through lectures, tutorials, online content, and assessment.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting edge, collaborative, international research-focused team working on a high-impact scientific project.

The Person

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (or complete within six months of appointment) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline, and demonstrate a strong track record of independent research, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.

You will have a solid background in computational biophysics, with the ability to develop and pursue innovative research ideas. Experience in conducting molecular dynamics simulations—including free energy calculations or advanced sampling techniques—is essential, ideally involving proteins, nucleic acids, or other biomolecules.

Proficiency in programming or scripting for simulation and data analysis, along with experience using high-performance computing environments, is required, and experience using structure prediction or AI methods is desirable.
