Salary package: $87,135 - $109,369 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, Fixed term (up to 12 months)
The Position
The Postdoctoral Fellow is research focused only. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be required to conduct independent yeast genomics research for non-alcoholic beer brewing; publish in refereed journals and present at conferences. They will collaborate with senior staff on external funding applications and research proposals, supervise undergraduate, honours, and graduate students, and assist with research student supervision. The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to School operations and maintain high academic standards, ensure workplace health and safety compliance and demonstrate commitment to equal opportunity principles and perform other duties consistent with position classification and comply with ANU policies.
The Person
We’re looking for a motivated researcher with a PhD (or near completion) in fungal genomics or a related field, proven research output, and strong computational skills (Linux, Python, R, HPC). You’ll bring experience handling large genomic datasets, developing analysis workflows, and contributing to funding bids. Strong teamwork, supervision, and communication skills, along with a commitment to equity and inclusion, are essential.

The Research School of Biology is a leading centre of biological research in Australia. Researchers have a tradition of excellence in addressing the world’s most pressing food security issues, including plant microbe interaction and fungal genomics.
