The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region. 

The Crawford School of Public Policy is one of four Schools within CAP and one of the world’s leading public policy schools. The Crawford School is the University's focal point for contributing to public policy research, education and policy impact. Its graduate programs have trained many of the region’s leaders, and its research has impacted on policy making. Public policy scholarship at Crawford School is characterized by high quality, policy-relevant research across a range of disciplines.

The Resources, Environment and Development within the Crawford School of Public Policy carries out cutting edge, interdisciplinary research and teaching, focusing on the social dimensions of environmental and resource management in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Within this group, we seek to appoint an outstanding early career academic to contribute to a new Australian Research Council-funded project “Planet Chicken: chemical entanglements in Asia’s poultry boom” (DP240100187). The Post-Doctoral Fellow will coordinate and undertake Thai research that is integral to this project, contribute to comparative analysis, and to project dissemination and impact. They will additionally have opportunities to contribute to the teaching effort of READ and to carry out activities to develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise relevant to their social science field.

Expertise in Human Geography, Anthropology or Rural Sociology is essential, and experience in political ecology will be viewed favourably. Fluency in spoken and written Thai is essential.
