The Position
This is a key role for an skilled instrumentalist to manage the ANU NanoPhase Facility within the Research School of Earth Sciences, where technical experience in disciplines such as phase analysis, spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging and/or force microscopy would be desirable. The successful candidate will provide high-level support to laboratory operations, technical and research operations, and a collection of state-of-the-art instrumentation including a Molecular Vista VistaScope infrared photo-induced force microscope, Horiba LabRAM Soleil Raman FTIR spectroscope, Olympus Vanta M portable x-ray fluorescence spectrometer and Malvern Panalytical Aeris benchtop XRD.
This position will based in the Geochemical Instrument Operations Team within Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES). RSES is Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences. To find out more about the RSES community, check out our Twitter and Instagram.

The Person
We are looking for a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to quickly develop productive, professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key. Skills and qualifications in earth sciences, chemistry, physics, and/or engineering would be desirable, as well as a desire to contribute to world-class research through research support and method development.
