Salary package: $95,987 - $110,489 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Position overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented archivist to support a project focused on making a major donation of personal papers accessible for research. In this role, you will apply your professional archival expertise to arrange and describe a complex collection, contribute to the ANU Archives catalogue, and liaise with stakeholders regarding the collection’s content and significance. You will also help scope future promotional and digitisation opportunities. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with large, complex archival collections and be familiar with archival management systems and accessibility standards. Working under the guidance of the Senior Archivist, you will also supervise an Assistant Archivist to ensure the project’s successful delivery.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a degree in archives management or a related field, with extensive experience working on large and complex archival collections, particularly personal papers. They will be skilled in archival appraisal, disposal, arrangement, and description, and have strong knowledge of descriptive standards such as ISAD(G). Proficiency in using archival management systems, particularly AtoM, is essential. The candidate will have experience supervising staff, managing competing deadlines, and planning projects to enhance collection accessibility through digitisation and public programs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with discretion and professionalism when handling confidential material, are also key to success in this role.
