About the Role
The Interim Director will lead the organisational culture, oversee and lead funding applications for capital and operational expenditure, provide leadership within the Australian computing community and contribute to national strategic conversations on supercomputing.
A key role for the Interim Director is to work closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Initiatives and Infrastructure) to ensure the future sustainability of NCI as a national research infrastructure factility.

About You
We are seeking a candidate with proven expertise in leading large and complex research or research infrastructure organisations. You will have a demonstrated track record in leadership in the strategic, developmental and managerial dimensions of complex and collaborative partnership-based organisations. Extensive experience working with Federal and State Governments, Government Agencies, the higher education sector and research institutions; and strong interpersonal, persuasion, negotiation, financial management and people management skills are also required

National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) is Australia’s leading national provider of high-end computational and data-intensive services, with a well-respected reputation for its services, expertise and innovation. NCI is hosted at ANU. NCI is funded by the Australian Government (NCRIS), its major collaboration partners and many participation partners across the Australian research ecosystem. NCI provides computational services including data storage capabilities to the Australian research and industry community.
