The Position

Are you a highly organised administrator who enjoys being at the centre of a busy, purpose-driven team? Do you thrive on balancing day-to-day operations with project coordination, stakeholder engagement and helping colleagues succeed?

The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL) is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Institute Administrator to play a key role in supporting our research, engagement and advocacy activities. Based at The Australian National University, GIWL brings together world-leading expertise to advance gender equality through evidence-based research, practical solutions and high-impact engagement.

As our Institute Administrator, you will be much more than an administrator. You will be a valued member of a collaborative and supportive team, helping to coordinate a wide range of activities that keep the Institute running smoothly. From supporting project delivery and events, to managing administrative processes, coordinating travel, assisting with finance and HR activities, and helping researchers and professional staff achieve their goals, no two days will be the same.

The Person

We're looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and varied environment.
  • Takes initiative and looks for ways to improve processes.
  • Can juggle competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Is a strong team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Builds positive relationships with colleagues, students, partners and external stakeholders.
  • Has experience in administration, project coordination, operations support or a similar role.
  • Is passionate about contributing to a workplace that values inclusion, collaboration and evidence-based impact.

In return, you'll join a high-performing team that is making a real difference through research and advocacy, with opportunities to develop your skills across project management, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, finance, communications and university administration.

If you're looking for a role where you can contribute to meaningful work, support a dynamic team and grow your professional capabilities, we'd love to hear from you.
