Classification: Senior Manager 1 (Specialist)
Salary package: $131,524 - $137,807 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, Continuing (contingent funded)
This position is continuing (contingent funded). The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of 30 June 2028.
The Position
The High Performance Computing (HPC) Team Manager will provide support and guidance for the HPC Systems Team operating NCI’s peak HPC system “Gadi”. The role will encompass technical and operational support for a wide variety of tasks leading a highly skilled team. The team undertakes tasks including HPC system design, user environment design and development, and systems operation. The role will also provide support for other NCI teams, including supporting researchers using the system with technical insights and assistance in utilising the HPC systems to their highest potential.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced manager with HPC skills and a proven track record in working with complex systems, especially in scientific computing. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing teams operating high performance computing, scientific computing, or other highly scaling systems. Exceptional communication skills, an understanding of computational research, and experience developing or customising system tools will be highly regarded.
