The Australian National University is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head, Commercialisation and IP for The Research, Partnerships and Translation (RPT) group within the Research and Innovation Portfolio.
Reporting to the Chief Research, Partnerships and Translation, the Head, Commercialisation and IP is responsible for implementing strategic and operational management opportunities and relationships that facilitate the University's broader engagement with external stakeholders, commercial business entities, government initiatives, and other research organisations.
The Head of Commercialisation and IP will spearhead the University’s strategy for commercial technology transfer, overseeing all related activities. You will collaborate with other leaders across various RPT accountability areas to provide a unified approach to commercial development support. The role supports the University’s objectives for funding diversification and industry engagement.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated a high level of achievement in the management of innovation activities in a large organisation, with a proven record of obtaining industry, government and investment funds to support intellectual property development through to its translation for impact. They will also be outstanding leaders, who can support and mentor staff to encourage their development while driving organisational goals. In addition to that, the successful candidate will have proven experience in high level relationship management, and in providing education and training in research translation and commercialisation.
