The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join the ANU National Security College’s Business Management team.  We are seeking a Finance and Contracts Officer to support the business needs of the College under the broad direction of the Business Operations Manager.  In this role you will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project finance, ensuring adherence to regulations and funding guidelines. Additionally, you'll provide assistance to NSC staff and students with grant and contract administration, both pre- and post-award, and support the Business Operations Manager with budgeting, financial reporting, and expenditure management.

This position is offered on a fixed term, up to 12-month appointment.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field with demonstrated experience in financial and contract management in a complex organisation or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and qualifications/training. This position requires sound knowledge of contemporary financial practices, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience drafting complex financial reports and making recommendations on solutions.

To excel in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high attention to detail, proven organizational skills, and demonstrated experience in contract management. Given the focus on financial management in this role, advanced Excel skills as well as experience using Enterprise Systems and TM1 are highly sought after.

You will be expected to show initiative, working effectively both independently and as part of the Business Management team. You will liaise with staff, students and stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment, being the NSC’s point of contact for financial and contract related enquiries.

Given the nature of the NSC as a Commonwealth-ANU joint initiative dealing with national security agencies, candidates for this role must be eligible to attain an Australian Government security clearance.
