Position Overview
The SMP currently has four Curriculum Lead vacancies, each responsible for supporting the academic curriculum of a specific year in the medical program (Years 1 to 4). The Curriculum Lead positions will collaborate with academic, clinical, and professional staff to oversee the curriculum for Years 1 - 4 of the School of Medicine and Psychology's medical program, the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MCHD) degree. This role involves coordinating the design and delivery of teaching and assessment to ensure a comprehensive learning experience that meets the program's outcomes and accreditation standards.
The Curriculum Lead will also play a pivotal role in the ongoing review and restructuring of the medical program, ensuring the development and implementation of an innovative and engaging medical curriculum as well as the successful implementation of quality assurance processes and feedback mechanisms. The appointee will support and supervise clinical and academic staff, fostering an evidence-based approach to curriculum delivery. Responsibilities include leading curriculum development, ensuring high academic standards, supervising student research projects, contributing to the School's operations, and upholding workplace health and safety and equal opportunity principles.
The positions will suit clinicians with an interest in medical education who may be interested in working in a part time but substantive academic role alongside ongoing clinical practice.
