Position overview
The ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics (CECC) is seeking casual sessional academics (tutors) for Semester 1 2025. Individuals with experience and expertise in the field of Computing who are interested in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses are encouraged to apply.

As a casual sessional academic you will be involved in the delivery of CECC courses with support, guidance and direction from the Course Convenor and School staff.

You will work both independently and as part of a team to inspire active and evidence-based learning in our courses as well as motivate students to achieve their best and help them meet the stated learning outcomes.

A Tutor shall have qualifications and/or experiences recognised by the institution as appropriate for the relevant discipline area. If you have the ability to engage, educate and enjoy working as part of a team, we would like to hear from you.

Tutoring qualifications are highly regarded. If you have not already completed specific tutor training run by the CECS or TQP with CHELT, you may have the opportunity to participate in this professional development during the semester depending on COVID-19 restrictions. You will be notified by the school if this will be possible.

ANU casual sessional academic positions are non-ladder positions.

Review of applications will begin after the closing date and will continue until all positions have been filled. Applications may be used to fill casual sessional academic roles over the course of the Semester. Preparation for teaching in Semester 1 commences in O-week, from 10th Feb 2025. Some courses may start a little earlier and completion of training may be needed in the week of 3rd Feb 2025

The ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics (CECC) is one of the premier Engineering and Computing research institutions in the world. If you are successful for interview you will be contacted regarding an interview time during any of the above dates (please note during this time interviews may be conducted via Zoom).     • There are 10 questions to answer. 1-6 being compulsory. You have the option of providing up to 5 preferences. If you only wish to provide 1 preference, then you only need to fill the first preference section. You must provide at least one preference to be considered for the role.

It is the intention of the School of Computing to collect feedback on individual CSA performance from all course convenors in 2025.This feedback will be made available to other course convenors in subsequent semesters, should individuals apply for other CSA roles. Additional information on this will be provided to successful appointees.
